Lifestyle: VIDEO : L.E.P Bogus Boys Perform at SXSW

Bea Here. If you follow me on twitter then you know how anxious I was to see these guys perform. L.E.P was what one might call the Cinderella story of SXSW. The Chi town re presenters went from having one show last year( of which they weren't officially on) to having twelve shows this year. L.E.P shared this accomplishment with what seemed to be the entire city of Chicago, they were DEEP. Each venue they went to they moved as a unit. Everyone had on some type of L.E.P gear and/or had CDs to pass out to future fans.

While "parking lot pimp'n" out side the Light Bar Friday afternoon, Moonie came over to greet me. Those who know me, know I take things like this to heart. I checked to make sure he knew who he was speaking to and he responded with " yea I know who you are" .

The tremendous amount of shows had taken a toll on Moonie, as he had lost his voice.  Although, the lost of Moonie's voice did not have an effect on the show at all. As you'll see below, he performed each song as if he wasn't "milli vanilli'n it". L.E.P maybe Chicago representers but at the end of their set a raspy voice Moonie explained that their music is not just for Chicago and that they do it simply for the love of hip hop, a love that led to the lost of his voice..

I left SXSW accomplishing my goal( getting a connect on L.E.P.) and new level of respect for those Bogus Boys.

Lifestyle: VIDEO: Killa Kyleon at SXSW

Killa Kyleon is a favorite here at Aye Lifestyle. He won our hearts when he opened up for Wiz during the Wake -N- Bake tour. He solidified his spot as a favorite on the site with his current mixtape, Candy Paint & Texas Plates. Killa Kyleon has a killer stage presence; if you aren't a fan before he hits the stage you will be after he exits the stage. Killa definitely held it down for his hometown, Houston, TX at SXSW. In words of Killa, RUN IT!

NEW TO THE LIFE: Sports Life: Aye Look Thru My Sports Eye: Different Year Same Madness

Leading up to this years NCAA Tournament there was a lot of speculation and criticism regarding the 68 team or “First Four” round that was starting this year. Even though some thought adding four more teams to the tournament was too much, other like those left out like Colorado, Virginia Tech, St. Mary’s and Harvard thought with recent missed this would be the year that they get into the field. Also, those snubs and “undeserving additions” such as Penn State , USC, Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Alabama at Birmingham were heavily disputed since the announcement of the field.

Once it started it showed why this is viewed by many as the best spectacle in sports. Nationally unknown teams such as University of North Carolina at Asheville and University of Arkansas at Little Rock led it off with a well played overtime thriller that could have made you forget who was in or out. A day later VCU then proved their worth with and impressive victory against USC.,

Then came Thursday, the unofficial start of the tournament, where anything and everything is a possibility. That was proven. The second game of the day was a competitive game between Old Dominion University and Butler. This back and forth contest was ended by a last second shot by Butler’s Matt Howard. That was quickly out done by one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, when Morehead State’s Demonte Harper basically ended Louisville’s with a daggering 3-point basket with 4. 2 seconds remaining. That was followed by the potential game winning shot from the Cardinals being blocked by Morehead emotional leader Kenneth Faried
If that was not enough within that hour in yet another back and forth between Temple University and Penn State, which led to Penn State’s Taylor Battle hitting a 30 foot 3-pointer with 12.2 seconds remaining. Those 12.2 seconds was deemed to be too much when Temple’s Juan Fernandez fought off a double team and maintained his balance to hit a crushing buzzer beating floater as time expired. If counting that’s 3 games decided in the last 5 seconds out of 4, March’s definition of madness.

That excitement did not taper off into the weekend as more last second shots and more upsets turned perception in to reality. VCU continued through the tournament with impressive upsets over Georgetown and Purdue, whom some picked to win the championship. Temple’s tournament came to a heartbreaking end in a compelling double overtime lost to surprising yet consistent San Diego State. Then if not the biggest upset of the tournament when Butler upset #1 seeded Pittsburgh in the wackiest finish of the tournament so far.

As expected perennial championship contenders Kansas, Duke, North Carolina and tournament overall #1 seed Ohio State behind sensational freshman Jared Sullinger, then you also have tournament surprises Virginia Commonwealth led by young and vibrant coach Shaka Smart. From the same city is the Richmond University Spiders, who have victories over Vanderbilt and Cinderella hopeful Morehead State. Who would have out of the 11 teams chosen out of the Big East that 2 would remain and one of those be Marquette. The Golden Eagles, who have upset victories over Xavier(Ohio) and conference rival Syracuse in the last seconds of their second round match-up to get to this point. Lest we forget arguably the tourneys favorite player Jimmer Fredette, who will try to shoot his BYU Cougars all the way to the championship.

You also add UCONN, Wisconsin, Arizona, Kentucky, and add an equally astonishing Florida State team and the “Sweet 16” is set. Even though according to ESPN there are no remaining perfect brackets, I could see this as a perfect ending over the next two weekends of and all ready breathtaking tournament. Enjoy

What's Your Browser About?

This month two out of the three major browsers had full version updates. Last week Microsoft's Internet Explorer made the leap from version 8 to 9, while Mozilla Firefox turned 4.

Internet Explorer 9 brings a whole new interface(for Microsoft) into the mix. It looks and acts like Google Chrome with its minimalistic space saving look. Also the it's now lightning fast(or so I'm told). You see I can't actually download it because its only compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and I'm still rockin' with XP. If however your pc is more up-to-date go ahead and check it out at the link. Download IE 9 Here.

Firefox version 3 currently holds the record for most downloads in the first 24 hours, with over 8 million so that should let you know how big of a following it has. Version 4 wasn't far behind with just over 7 million downloads in the first 24 hours when it released earlier this week. I have had the chance to play with this one and I must say that I like the changes. It seems everyone is going for a more space saving design which is always good. Download Firefox 4 Here.

Now Chrome hasn't had any major updates lately because it has a lot of minor updates. I had to put it in because it is my current favorite(previously Firefox) and I recommend that everyone give it a try if you haven't already. Download Chrome Here.

Lifestyle: Poetic Stimulation: Words

I had the privilege of reading this masterpiece

By these two queens

Its titled Words

But read deeper to discover what each word means.

A great poet once said

Sticks and stones may break your bones

But words will always teach you...

Learn the message

and let it seep through

these loving words will put an end to all hatred

"Words" is today's Poetic Stimulation...

"Words" By: Britney M. Adams & Myla Bocage

M - I'd like a simplistic kinda love, with white doves, and a scented breeze, walking through meadows, plucking not the flowers, but harmony's petals...

B - I'd like to fall into it...better yet, have it fall into me. Let me inhale the feeling and bask in it. Allow it into my system, infecting my every cell...*aachoo*...maybe you'll catch it...

M - May I embrace it also, inhale it in, feel it's presence stream throughout my body and know no cure...*achoo* I think I've got it...

B - Now feel free to share...and surrender, for I have jumped and let the winds carry me...

M - I see you...I think I'll jump too, but I'll let my dreams carry me, your soul and my soul, ours souls, will soar freely, flying over many seas...

B - We'll leave our mark on this place as we slither through clouds and gather stars, keeping them for wishes we'll later make...

M - You're right, for later, because now, we have new odysseys that await us. And we must fulfill these duties to earn our place with the constellations...

B - So let the journey begin, as we venture off into the places where only the nameless and faceless parts of ourselves matter...where egos disappear and only energy resides...

M - And our energy is unlike any other, the universe powers our inner being, and the planets and their moons feed our souls...

B - Together we'll create shooting stars, and ride them across the galaxy...we'll kiss the skies of worlds we abandon, leaving them behind waiting for our return...

M - But as they wait for our return, they'll hear of our adventures, creating new worlds, full of promise and wisdom...

B - Well let's not keep them waiting, they've too long been deprived. Let's pick a spot, share this love and declare this a safe space...

M - And declare space, this we shall...We'll call it Amity. Invite the families, it is a time for a new beginning...

B - Plant seeds, call them our children, and watch them grow...bringing life and saving love...installing light in every one of them...

M - And Saturn will give us it's support, lending us it's powerful moon Titan, to control the tide, not flooding, but feeding the land, so we can have fruits of life, animals...

B - They'll tell stories of those who came and brought them life again...from humans to queens, to great goddesses in the sky...only to be reduced to mere myths, as time erases our true presence...

M - Erased, only to be written again, not as beings anymore, we are much greater than that. the universe now bows to us. We are forever in the stars...shining down on Amity...

B - Immortal now, we'll keep them in the palms of our hands, as we watch over land and sea...and graciously move on to sow the light and love that others need...

M - And whenever they're in a tad bit of doubt, they'll look up to us in the constellations...we've earned our place, finally, true leaders of an astronomical nation...

B - Now the wish-givers, there's no need to keep these stars in our pockets...I'll give them back, so the hearts that cry out may reach for them and claim their own...and begin the journey to join us in the heavens...

Beauty Life: Pretty As Aye Picture: Test Drive

Hey Lifers! So, it's that time of year when colors change. Brown fields are decorated in greens and yellows, oranges and pinks and everything seems brighter. The days are lighter and it's only fitting that your hair should be as well. But before you change those chocolate browns to hues of honey, I encourage you to try it on. Think about it. Everyone has that one thing they won't buy without trying it on first, a pair of shoes, a pair of jeans, or a swimsuit perhaps. So why would you leave something as present as your hair to chance?

Look, no matter what lie you want to tell yourself, not every color is meant for everybody. And all colors have shades. The less you color your hair, the healthier it will be. This is especially true if your hair is relaxed, since adding a permanent color would qualify as a double chemical process. So why go through the multiple color applications in search of the perfect color?

Here are a few options. If you are considering panels of color or even highlights, try clipping in extensions in the color you want. You can also sew in or glue in hair in the desired color. Another option would be to spray on the color you want to change to. If you are thinking of coloring your entire head, try wearing a wig. These non-committed color solutions will help you select the right shade and color for your skin and get over the initial shock of your transformation. That way, when you actually do get your hair dyed, you already know what to expect.

Once you've made your decision, make sure you let a licensed professional to do the job. And be sure to ask what customized maintenance rituals you should follow afterwards. Try on as many colors you'd like. Surprise yourself. And whatever you choose, own it. Happy hunting!!
